Cricket Night.

I promised a "detailed" cricket post a few days ago! Here is a post about cricket...but detailed certainly won't describe it! I am way to tired, and cricket really isn't all that exciting! The people are exciting, the colors are exciting...and when the home team is playing in the quarter finals the game is a bit more exciting! The game was Guyana (defending champions) vs. Antigua. We arrived at the stands at 4:30 for a 7:15 game - and it was already starting to get packed. It was so fun to people watch - and long story short but the gentleman we were with let me play with some of his fancy camera lenses. It was a very difficult place and setting to take pictures but a couple of my 200 pictures did turn out!

Pregame crowds...not many smiles in this bunch of people...

This is maybe 1/6 of the entire crowd. Everyone had a flag to wave. In this big group of Guyana flags, you can see one Antigua flag (the sun over water). Not sure this person made a wise choice in choosing his position. This crowd looked like it could turn into a riot VERY quickly!

There were many kids at the game - up on their parents shoulders. This little girl is waving her Antigua flag and directly above her was a huge flag that kept waving over her. She was very nervous about it and eventually her mom or dad relocated out from underneath this monster. Unfortunately this flag was in our direct line of sight the entire evening!

Here's another cutie...He was a doll. We saw this little guy walking with his mom after the game.

This flag really stuck out - I would guess many people found it odd to have a POW-MIA flag in amongst this crowd.

The game went well...Antigua wasn't able to pull out a win...and it looks like Guyana may win it all again...a win brings the team one million bucks!!
