Rainy Day Fun!!

We have had several rainy days here...I should say stormy, but thankfully nothing too severe. I broke out the costumes, and even Eli had fun!!

E is pretending to be a triple super hero...Spiderman, Batman, and Superman (slippers)!

It certainly made me feel safe being in the same house as all of these Superheroes...that is until they turned on me and told me I was the "bad guy!"

Tis the Season...AGAIN!

Garage Sale season is here again...at least in Alabama! Remember this from almost 2 years ago?? My boys have always been big fans of garage sales. This past week my mom was here visiting an our neighborhood happened to be having their annual neighborhood garage sales...over 38 sales! We were out the door by 7:00...

This was the first time Eli was able to experience all this chaos, he wasn't too sure about the whole deal! On a side note...this was his last day he was allowed to carry his bottle around!!

Seth's little legs were getting tired; we converted our single stroller into a double - worked quite well!

Eli found a little treasure for himself out of someone's "free" box! Those are the best - I think this box might have been mislabeled, because the gentleman kept say, "Oh, I didn't know that was free..."

Zach taking a break to drink some ice cold lemonade despite the fact that it was freezing outside!

Although the weather has been in the high 70's and low 80's this morning was particularly cold! I actually bought a couple sweatshirts for the boys at the first sale...just to keep them a big warmer, and Seth found some mittens in the "free" box!

Our best scores:

Name Brand coats/sweatshirts for next year 0.25
Bike for Seth $2
Full pack of diapers 0.50
Junky toys 0.50
Camera Lens $25

A very successful day!!

Capri Pants or Board Shorts??

I can remember when my friend teased me when I put Zach in this pair of shorts. She would always say something to the affect of "I didn't know boys could wear Capri pants?"

Well...E has now grown into this pair of 2T shorts and I had to smile when I pulled them out the of the bin today and put them on him...I guess whether they are Capri pants or Board Shorts doesn't matter because they are SO cute!!

ps...please excuse the runny nose/apple shot...I didn't realize how bad the nose was until I had already taken the picture!!

Our Little Trooper!!

If only everyone could feel this great when they have the flu...

Three days prior, this little guy was in the clinice getting poked, prodded, and xrayed. He tested positive for the "bad strain" of the flu virus. Apparently a very large outbreak has happened in our area in the last few weeks. The Dr. told me to expect 7-10 days of him being "pewny" with high fevers up to 105. This is Day #3...he had a lot of people praying for him!

Busy Busy Busy...

We have taken a brief hiatus from blogging...I realize that we are not alone in this stage of life as my friend pointed out a couple of days ago. We are just plain busy...

Busy celebrating famous birthdays...we love you Dr. Suess.

Busy celebrating not so famous birthdays...(the boys helped Dad make this cake, and Zach kept telling me to go in the other room, because it had to be a SECRET! -- He told me he was making macaroni, but when I saw the cake batter on his lip, he told me he was making "chocolate macaroni!")

Busy playing in the mud...which means lots of laundry, baths, and soap!! Did I mention that I folded 67 pairs of socks last week...NO KIDDING! (that didn't include the 19 pairs that didn't have matches).

And busy fighting "Influenza A." Which means several trips to the clinic, needles, xrays, and nasals swabs...fun!!

I hope you all are enjoying your busy lives...I know we are!!

Cloudy with a chance of...

Do you ever feel like your weather is like this book? Which by the way is the boys' favorite book right now!
After a week of crazy weather, that is about how we feel. The beginning of last week we were enjoying 65-70 degree days...wonderful...almost like Spring, but Friday things changed when a storm system moved into the area with rain, hail, severe lightning and wind. If I counted correctly the tornado sirens went off 10 times on Friday...each time we turned on the TV to see if we really needed to "take cover." So when the Siren went off bright and early Saturday morning (6:30a.m. - not fun to wake up to), the weather service had "cried wolf" so many times that we sat staring at the TV watching a system move directly over our city saying...ah, it's o.k., I even went out to take some pictures. The part that isn't great about this is that there were 3 tornadoes that did touched down in Alabama - and it's still 1 week before the official start of Tornado season!! That really doesn't excite me!

This is our yard after the torrential rain!! It made a river through our yard, along the fence, into the front yard and then flowed down the neighbors driveway...the boys thought it was "very cool!"

Saturday was relatively uneventful, but the forecast predicted a "possible chance of snow flurries." Everyone knows it doesn't snow in Alabama (with the exception of a skiff last year), but Alabamians take their weather predictions seriously and the city was just buzzing with talk of these "snow flurries." What a big surprise to wake up to a full snow storm. We were in a "Winter storm watch" for most of the day - our church was not one of the "210 churches in Central Alabama" who cancelled their services so we went about business as usual- but by 2:00 it was all gone. It certainly was fun while it lasted and the boys were so excited that it "finally snowed in Alabama!"

"Can I please go outside?"

Eli had trouble picking up the snow, so he decided to just lay down and lick it off the ground.

With shorts and flip flops, Justin still thinks he's in Antigua...only in his dreams!!

We look forward to the high 70's this week, maybe "with a chance of meatballs..."
