Time with friends Part I - Couples only!

On Saturday, our friends flew in from Cheyenne, Wyoming to visit us for a few days. We were able to take one full day, without kids, touring the island; and the next day we just let the kids tag along. Having friends here made both Justin and I realize how much we missed our friends and family - and missed spending time with other couples - talking, laughing, and making memories. I hope not to bore you with too many photos, but by the end of the next few posts, maybe you can feel like you have had your own island tour from the comfort of your own home.

The day started off at 8a.m. with Justin taking Charlotte and Titus to Jabberwock Beach to snorkel. I stayed behind with the boys to get things settled for the babysitter. You can tell by the color of our skin who is freezing in 20-degree weather and who is freezing in mid-70's weather! Sorry Titus!!

Our next stop was Devil's Bridge - this is a beautiful area with waves crashing in and spouting up onto the rocks. We convinced an unsure tourist from the Netherlands to snap this picture of the four of us.

Half Moon Bay, in my opionion, is a perfect Carribean beach - as the name implies the bay is crescent shaped with soft sand and bright blue water, and some other nice mountain views (right Titus)...beautiful!!

Seeing this amazing boat was one of the highlights of our day. This picture is borrowed off the internet, since aparently out of the hundrends of pictures we took we didn't catch any of this boat. This is the Maltese Falcon, the fastest, biggest, and most expensive sail boat in the world!! We were in awe as we watched this sail out of the harbour, unfurl it's 20 million dollar sails, and blast it's horn. The owner won't reveal how much the boat costs, but he does charge 1/2 million dollars to charter it for a week. Maybe Trevor could start working on the Maltese and he could host Thanksgiving dinner this year!! Of course we would need a family discount!

After spending most of the day in the sun and at various beaches we headed up to Shirley Heights which used to be an old Brittish Fort. High in the hills, it would give a 180 degree view to see any incoming vessels. On Sunday nights they party the night away with a Steel Pan Band, Food, and Drinks.

We took in some spectacular views, listened to the music, and people watched. This is

The one thing we didn't get a picture of was the 100 or so people that were all crammed into one small area raising their cameras over their heads to get a picture of the sunset. Justin caught a great one!!

He even had a few spare seconds to take a picture of this strange cactus with the colors of the sunset in the background.

We didn't have time to do a nice ocean front dinner with Charotte and Titus that day...so on the last evening here, Will offered to babysit and we headed out on a double date plus Eli. The tables were set in the sand and we watched the sunset...and as you might guess, watching the sun go down into the water from a beachside restaraunt was really a tough ordeal...but we made it through! :)

And I am with Jodie. I think I am jealous - not to mention it is all very reminiscent of our honeymoon in the V.I.'s!
Love to you all!
