Some assorted Pictures

Sorry about not having posted pictures in over a week. Vonnie has been traveling all over the country with 3 boys and her mom. I think Shirley is harder to keep out of trouble than the boys, but I will confirm tha with Vonnie! :) Just kidding Shirley...thank you very much for helping them get to Florida...

Thanks to my mom getting them up to Oregon...and Thanks to all of the folks who have made it work to have them join me here in paradise. Sort of like Air Force One is only called that when the president on board...Antigua will only truly be paradise at 4:30 PM on Monday evening...after my family arrives! Then I can share the wonder and with them, and they don't just have to share it in heart, but in actuality. Picture of the Sun setting over the largest lake on the island...when I got here, there was no water in this lake...we have since gotten a large amount of rain, it made for a beautiful picture.
An amazing flower...today I decided to get all artsy and stuff! It was pretty fun to take some of these pictures...you will notice the beautiful cloudy sky in the background!
While this picture doesn't look real, it is very much so. The first attempt, I was standing in the sun casting a shadow on the flower...it was not nearly as vibrant an the flower was not able to cast a shadow of its own. This picture was fun to take and turned out beautifully!

So the trail we hiked up today led to the antennae farm at the top of the tallest point in Antigua 1300+ feet...yeah, not Pike's Peak, but unlike Pike's Peak, it is the tallest peak in its country. We had to climb this antennae tower to get a good view, because the gate was locked for the first time ever...according to Jimmy! :)

A picture of a flower grouping that was very pretty. I think they were actually on some sort of nettle, because shortly after I was stinging on my lower legs. It doesn't seem fair that I would be stung, but the bugs you can see on this flower didn't. The guys offered to help me with the sting, by saying the ammonia in urine helps with the sting. I sucked it up and didn't let them experiment!

Me at the port...there are two LARGE cruise ships right behind me...there was an additional one off to the left, but from here we couldn't get all three in one picture. I look forward to getting a picture of 5 in the harbor...I am told it is done at times!

The pier where the two ships were tied too...I was basically on one of the main streets in the port and looking right out onto where the gangways come down...pretty massive ships that make you feel pretty small!
So the next pictures will be of Vonnie and the boys joining me after Monday evening...love to you all, and thanks for keeping up with us on the Blog.
