The next baby step I have taken is to start to utilizing Walgreens and CVS pharmacies (Rite Aid is next) for some of my household items. I am what they call a "newbie" in this couponing business, but slowly I am learning how to stack my coupons, and how to use them when they give me the most benefit!
This is my first "real" CVS transaction which I why I am posting it! It is very small in comparison to what someone who is not a "newbie" could pull off, but I am very proud of my baby steps!
2 Johnson's Buddy bath bars - Free
2 Bottles of Excedrin ES - Free
2 Pkgs of Shick Razors - Free
2 Pkgs of Chex Mix - Free
L'Oreal Skin Genesis cleansers - Free
Womens Soft and Dry - Free
Mens Right Guard - Free
And would you believe it if I actually told you I made a couple of dollars by "buying" these!
O.k., so I'm not bragging, I am just telling you the possibilities are out there and they are endless! I could list about 15 other things (food, household, and personal items) that I have "bought" for free in the last 2 weeks, and it didn't even scratch the surface of what was available! I do have to say it is time consuming right now...Justin thinks I am slightly crazy (especially when I dash out of the house at 8pm to make a Walgreens run)...but the pay off has been huge already. There are hundreds of websites out there that basically teach you; and some that will do all of the work for you!! What fun!!
I haven't blogged much (really not any) for a while, and this is the reason why - because I have found a new hobby!
Check out 2 of the links I put on the right - who spell out the details a lot better than I ever could!

OOh, free Chocolate Truffles Chex Mix?? You've piqued my interest!
We are terrible coupon users- but we try to do the majority of our grocery shopping at the Commissary- do you guys have one of those?
There is something called the Grocery Game that I've heard of it- is it something you're using?
S
Susie, The same premise (stock up when it's on sale) as the Grocery game, which is a nice web site by the way, but there are many out there that are free to use. I drive about 15 miles to go to the commissary - for about 90% of my shopping - unless I can use double coupons to get a better deal at a different store on something. The commissary is awesome about coupons - they take internet printed coupons - and will give you "overage" if your coupon is more than the item price :)
sound like alot of work trying to figure them out but well worth it if you save money each time you shop, especially if it's for things you need and want. Keep up the good work. NV mom
So, a friend of mine just told me about A full cup- when I have some time tonight, I'm going to check it out- I think we could benefit form being a little bit wiser with our purchases, too :) THanks for the nudge in the right direction.
You're doing awesome! Like the other person says, it can be work, but it's well worth it for the amount you save. Like my shopping a couple weeks ago. I spent $17.30 and saved well over $400! And would you believe in all actuality it took me about an hour total to plan. It becomes like a second nature after a while. WTG! You're on your way. And I am honored you are putting me up on your site! Many blessings to you.
