The so-called flower bed looks much nicer now. Well I'm not sure about looking nicer, but at least we can see out of our backyard windows now!!

It's a Bug's Life!!
It's a little bit hard to know what to do with my so called flower beds here! Not only are they completely overgrown with strange bushes, but they are filled with all sorts of bugs, insects, and who knows what else! Did I mention that we are renting our house - so I don't really want to put to much time or energy into them. This weekend I jumped in full fledged to the small bed in the back yard. I completely pruned back all of the bushes, pulled out all sorts of prickly weeds and ground cover, and spotted these - amongst many other not so nice bugs!!
6 big juicy caterpillars in one small section of ground cover! These boys were VERY excited about these to say the least. We played with them for a little while and then transplanted them to some corner grass...hoping they would recover from such a traumatic move!

Awesome!!! I don't think I've seen a caterpillar since I was a kid!
Holy Cow- those are giant!
Those caterpillars probably will like all the work you are doing in their flower bed. They probably eat what's in those beds and will turn into some kind of moth or miller. the green ones look alot like one I took to school that turned into a miller of some sort. Coolto see Zachary enjoying them and not being afraid of them.
this is why i won't live in the south-- bugs should not be bigger than your smallest finger!!!
