Eli settling in for the little Sunday stroll...it is actually pretty easy for him, all he has to do is make sure he doesn't fall asleep to get to enjoy it all...more on that later. We put the older two into the stroller and put Eli into the Baby Bjorn for a short (1/4 of a mile or so each way) walk down to the sand barge pier and the beach, after we spent 2/3 or the day just being lazy and resting...and after naps we asked the boys "Do you want to go to the beach?" Seth..."No thanks!" Zach..."I don't want to go to the beach." And Vonnie and I didn't really feel like getting all the stuff together, so thus the Sunday stroll.
We have all been where Zach is in this picture...nothing that mom and dad did was going to be right...he was kind of to the end of his rope and got to crying pretty good over nothing.
This was end of the stroller part, and as you can tell Zach is dealing with life a little better at this point...they are headed down the overgrown trail of the old Lord Nelson hotel. We got access through a gate that had been busted open...so really we were trespassing, but this way was easier than down the path that wasn't trespassing, oh and it made for a better picture trudging through the great unknown.
Again, trespassing, but again a much better picture than we would have gotten walking over all the rocks and high grass. I guess when/if this gate gets fixed, we will be happy we got our good pictures on this trip.
The only picture of Vonnie she would let me put in the blog. She did a good job of actually getting Zach to look at the camera...he is a little shy lately and not all that keen on doing anything you ask him to do.
All of Mommy's boys. Lord Nelson's beach and the Antigua Barbuda Defence Force officer's housing in the background. When you see the view from their houses, it almost makes you wish you could get commissioned to work with them for a while...or at least stay in their housing on the "beach".
This loader has been subject to the standard Antiguan maintenance plan! Step 1: Run it until it doesn't run any more. Step 2: Take a cursory look at it. Step 3: Determine it is cheaper not to fix than put a quart of oil and some grease in it. Step 4: Find a piece of land either in the bush or on the beach to abandon it and make it someone else's problem... Just insert whatever you want into this checklist, and you will see it on Antigua.
Mommy's four boys again...this time out past the loader dumping grounds and out on the pier...not as cool as yesterday's, but this one was made out of deteriorating concrete...The boys got a kick out of it though and enjoyed throwing rocks in.
And as was said with the first picture...all he had to do was hang out and not fall asleep to enjoy everything. Apparently the hanging out was much more fun and took precedent over the not falling asleep.
