Cooking Cookies for 150 people...EASY RIGHT??

So any time you are cooking in a new kitchen it is a good idea to get a lay of the land...ecspecially when it is a kitchen used to feed 70+ people 3 times a day...
There was a brave individual (Cammie) who was willing to put a group of 7 of us through our paces...We are pretty sure the bravery was actually being a little crazy or just not knowing what he was getting into...he will learn to run when he sees us coming his direction!

Notice that Ronna is trying to used poor little Eli to get out of pulling her weight in the kitchen...it wasn't long before we saw through her plan and stole the little man from her, so she could be as confused as the rest of us. (Eli never did sleep in the kitchen area in spite of being very very very very tired. Vonnie finally took him back to the room and put him to bed.)

When Cammie started to explain to us that we were making our measurements in pounds and ounces instead of cups and teaspoons, we were all thrown for a loop. No Beth's look of confusion was not just for theatrical purposes.

Finally we let him just show us. He pulled out this scale from the first World War and put Vonnie through her paces. Vonnie's smile was based on Cammie just telling her to pour...you will need more. His hand is putting some of that MORE back into the bag as he got a little over zealous.

Charlotte Eat Your Heart Out...Justin looks on while he is schooled on the proper use of the industrial mixer...So just don't touch which lever? Make sure it is seated on how? The very first attempt to latch on the mixing bowl after the lesson was a complete failure and almost caused GRAVE damage...okay, maybe it just rattled little bit, but it seemed pretty bad.

While you might think the look on the faces of the Base Commander and the Station Manager (Senior Contractor) are rarely seen, you should come by the office during a civil engineering telecon sometime...they will look even more frustrated and confused!

Just when we were getting into the groove, Monsieur Tim O'Sullivan...artiste extrodinaire jumped in to save our prettiest cookie. He used expert "brush" (actually a spoon) to drizzle chocolate over already decadent cookies.

And the final product...chocolate cookie balls rolled in nuts, stuffed with a frozen piece of Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and drizzled with chocolate. YUMMY!

Will taking his time to salvage the artistic look of the Danish cookies by spreading out almond slices on the dough that Ronna had forked; she used a fork to smash them down like a peanut butter cookie...or something like that.

Beth might have found part of the culprit of the forked cookies. At this point, Will cut us off from the wine...oh well, we still have the Bourbon balls left...and man were they stout, good thing we left them for last, or we would have never finished.

After only three bourbon balls, the normally reserved base commander was "Dancing in the Aisle." All Will and Cammie could do was watch and be embarassed for me!

The Crew...Tim "the Artiste" O'Sullivan, Joanne, Ronna, Cammie (our HERO...he deserves a purple heart), Beth, Will "Attention to Detail" St. Peter, and the reason for all of the tom foolery, Justin and Vonnie minus all three Kids...THANKS CAROL for watching them...
