I wanted to share a brief excerpt from a recent broadcast on Focus on the Family by Fern Nichols...maybe several of you mothers will be able to be encouraged by this, I know I was!

"A child...is shear delight but he can also be utterly maddening. He's inquisitive, short tempered, demanding, cuddly, innocent and dangerous at the same time. I find it fascinating to watch him run through his day seeking opportunity to crush things, flush things, kill things, spill things, fall off of things, eat horrible things, and think of ways to rattle his mother.

Oh, what kinds of emotions come from a mother's heart: compassion, sympathy, tenderness, gentleness, forgiveness, affection, apathy, exasperation, disgust...ALL from ONE heart!

Sometimes, it baffles me this assignment of mothering. It's interesting that we can carry a child for 9 months...it takes us 9 months to make a baby, and a lifetime to make a mother. God made no mistakes in you being a mom. No matter where you are in your mothering today, so I want to encourage you...Don't give up!"

Here's a fun little tidbit- Fern Nichols goes to our church in San Diego- she spoke a few times while I was there, but I also had the opportunity to take photos of some of her family- and she even cameo'd! How fun is that?

Thanks for the encouragement. We all need to be reminded that God called us to this assignment and will equip us to complete it.
