It certainly isn't easy being the youngest of three boys. Maybe that is why you seem so much older than two. You have quickly learned to be tough and to fight for what you want (this includes a lot of screaming). There is no such thing as leaving you out because you want to be doing exactly what your big brothers are...even if you are too little - which is why I get funny looks at the park when you are at the top of the highest slide.
I can remember taking you to the doctor for your 18 month check up...I heard the words "definitely a red flag" when she realized you were only saying one or two words. You showed her, you are a non stop chatter box now...and if you can't say it, you at least give it a good try!
Your nicknames "E" and "E ball" have taken hold, thanks to your Brothers. A few days ago you starting calling yourself "E ba!" I'm not sure that's good, but it sure is cute!!
One of your favorite things to do is read books...if we sat down with a big pile of your board books, you would sit...point...laugh...and beg for more at the end! This makes your Grandma Pam very happy!!

And let's not forget your hair! While your big brothers and your Daddy are getting buzzed, Mommy just can't cut off your cute little curly locks...which seem to be getting curlier by the day! There is so much more to be said about you E...you are such a special part of our family. You make us smile from the minute we get you out of bed...and the next minute you are making us tear out our hair! You challenge us, but also bring us so much joy.

Life here is anything but calm and quiet with you around, especially our car rides; and nothing is safe if it is within your sight...but we are so thankful that God blessed us with you; and that He made you with your own special personality!
Happy Birthday Eli!

I just love how you are making memories for your boys through this blog. It's so sweet how much love comes through in your writing. BTW-the rocks with Eli in first pic look like my parents yard in CO. :)

Oh Vonnie, I am with you on the hair....the curls are precious! I love how adorable he is! You have 3 very handsome boys:) Happy Birthday Eli! We miss him so much!
Wow, it's nice he has some blonde curly hair, like his Grandpa Sel when he was younger. Hope he can keep it! NV Grandpa
How does that happen?! I just CANNOT figure out why you have to spend so much of your time as a grown-up and only get to be a baby for such a short while! Struggling with a bit of that here. My heart is heavy for this first birthday that is just around the corner. I demand that you get on a plane right now to take pictures of Maggie for her big day!
Love the pics of the boys at the park as well. Such handsome princes! Hope that oldest one still has eyes for our little princess. We're saving her for that arranged marriage we discussed. Please put him on a white horse when the time comes and send him our way. By the way, she prefers puppies to flowers.
