Summer trip...Mobile Uploads!

Technology is amazing, isn't it? Who would have guessed that in our hands we could hold a small device that would surf the web, connect us to friends and family, email, and take pictures? I'm sure that my sweet little phone does a whole lot more than that, but that's basically what I utilize! So this post is some of the photos I took with my phone.

Being in the car for 6 days in a row with 4 children gets a little hairy sometimes! Our kiddos rock at travelling - this isn't the first time we have traveled cross country. Our stops are planned out...and it is places like this stop in Colby Kansas that are amazing! Not only is their fuel and a great outside park, but more importantly a Starbucks...for this sleep deprived Mommy, Starbucks is a welcome sight!

I had forgotten what it is like to be back in wind country!! I'm not sure I miss it!

What boy (or girl) wouldn't be excited about a stop at Cabella's!! Even I think this store is amazing!

Eli needs a bit of work on his animals...he proudly pointed this bad boy out and said "Dad, look at the big Donkey!" I'm not too sure Daddy was all that proud of him at this point!!

We had hoped to stop in at the Headwaters State Park in Three Forks, Montana. This is where the Jefferson, the Madison, and the Gallatin Rivers (named by Lewis and Clark) come together to form the mighty Missouri. All of the rivers through Montana were either at their banks or overflowing! The State Park was closed. It was a bit ironic to see this much water in Montana, Wyoming, and Kansas...but yet have the rivers in Louisiana drying up thanks to weeks of intense heat!

We had a really great stop in Deer Lodge, Montana. I have a few memories from this historic town...it is well known for it's prison (old and new), but it also has this great little museum type town set up for you to tour through.

Zach loved watching the blacksmith....

While Eli spent most of his time checking out the jail and the coffin placed outside!!

On many of my childhood trips to Oregon we stopped at this place...It is at the top of a beautiful mountain pass...basically a great gift store with a whole lot of Silver Dollars inside.

As a child I never would have imagined that some day my husband and my four children would be sitting at the same bar that I had passed so many times as a kid. No worries....there wasn't any drinking happening here!

There is something great about June....and snow! Something that we certainly would never see here in Louisiana! This picture was taken on the top of another Mountain pass shortly after Paige threw up in the car for the 2nd time! I'm not sure if it was the curvy roads...or just her way of getting out of the car to check out the scenery?

This was just an hour or two from our final destination! The kids needed to stretch their legs and were very excited to see the water pouring out of this Dam.

The kids were troopers...and were extremely excited to finally be done driving in the car!! I'm not sure if they will remember much about the trip, but certainly some great memories for Justin and I!
